Graham Dorrans admits draw with Fulham was strange

Norwich City’s Graham Dorrans has told The Pink ‘Un that their 2-2 draw with Fulham was a bit strange.

The Canaries have a very bad record at Craven Cottage and haven’t won there in 30-years for most of the game it seemed as if they would finally break that hoodoo. Dorrans gave Norwich the lead from the spot and when he was given another chance to score from a penalty, he took it with aplomb to make sure they had a comfortable lead going into the second half.

However in the second half, things started to go wrong for Norwich. Nerves were raised when Stefean Johansen got one back thanks to a deflected finish before Chris Martin punished his former side with a superb goal.

The draw meant that Norwich fell off the top of the Sky Bet Championship and was replaced by Newcastle United at the summit, with Dorrans admitting it was strange that they let Fulham back into the game.

He said: “It definitely felt like a game that got away from us,”

“We’re disappointed in the changing room. We went in at half-time 2-0 up, so to come in after the game not with three points is disappointing. But in the second half I don’t think we played well enough.”

“We didn’t start it well enough and they pushed us back. It was a bit strange that we were under a lot of pressure and they got the two goals, and then once they got the two goals we started to play again. But it was probably a bit late by then.”

“We’ll travel back, go home, we’ll be in on Wednesday and we’ll have a look through the game and talk about the positives and negatives from it, we’ll dissect it. Maybe it was a bit complacent.”

“It’s a difficult league and we know that. But I think we need to finish the game how we start it.”

“I don’t know how we can pinpoint what’s gone wrong at the minute, but I think we just need to stay positive. It’s an away point. We go again Saturday and (at home to Preston) hopefully we can go and get the three points, and then seven points from this week is not a bad return.”
