Villa fine Grealish for all-night party antics

SkyBet Championship club Aston Villa have issued a fine to young midfielder Jack Grealish after he attended an all-night party according to BBC Sport.

The 21 year old Solihull born winger attended the bash after Villa’s goalless draw at Ipswich Town last Saturday and his attendance was highlighted after police were called to the hotel where the party was taking place following a number of complaints from other guests.

Villa took immediate action to the news, issuing a suspension to the player while a club investigation took place and it has now been confirmed that the player has been fined following the conclusion of that investigation. The youngster missed the 1-1 draw with Newcastle United at Villa Park on Saturday evening but it is understood that the suspension has now been lifted and Grealish is available for first team selection once again.

Grealish is a product of the Aston Villa academy system with the player having been involved with the club since the age of six. The winger has gone on to make 54 senior appearances for Villa and has scored three goals.

After warning the player about his conduct, Aston Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo will be hoping to see a positive reaction from Grealish should he be selected for Tuesday’s SkyBet Championship fixture against Barnsley at Oakwell.
