Joleon Lescott working hard after signing for AEK Athens

Joleon Lescott has been working hard ever since he left Aston Villa and joined AEK Athens according to a report from Greek publication Sport24.

The 34-year-old defender became a hate figure around Aston Villa due to his perceived attitude around the club, attracting the most ire when he posted a picture of a flashy sports car on Twitter following their 6-1 loss to Liverpool. It made him one of the players the club were most keen to get rid of following their relegation to the Sky Bet Championship and that finally happened when he completed his move to AEK Athens.

However now that he is playing in the Greek capital, his attitude seems to have changed as he is reported to be one of the hardest workers in the squad. Lescott signed for Athens after a long flight from Birmingham and while he was offered a chance to rest by his new manager Temur Ketsbaia to have a rest. However he turned that down to have a double training session with his new team mates.

And while there have been reports Lescott is still not as fit as the rest of his team mates after being forced to train on his own back at Aston Villa, everything else about him has attracted rave reviews. Not only has he put in a lot of effort during training, he has been very eager to get on the ball and work hard and has also shown glimpses of leadership to his young team mates.
