Crewe have also not had the best of seasons. League Two play off winners in 2012 and Johnstone Paint Trophy winners last season would’ve seemed to have set them in good stead for this season, however, it’s not been the season fans will have wanted. Like Tranmere, Crewe have only won ten games all season, losing nineteen of the thirty-nine played. Forty points is often considered unsafe to rely on and stay up, and in Crewe’s case, this couldn’t be any more true.
The 19th placed Railwaymen have played an extra game to 20th placed Tranmere, and are only one point above their main relegation rivals. Some tough games follow for Crewe, including a brush with league leaders Wolves.
