Fleetwood Town make second signing of the day

Fleetwood Town have made their second signing of the day after Alex Jakubiak moved on loan for Watford for the season as confirmed by the club website.

The 20-year-old striker has been out on loan at several clubs but has attracted extra interest this season due to his form for Watford’s developmental side last season. Now he will get the chance to test himself in the EFL after signed a deal with Fleetwood which will keep him there for the season.

This continues what has been a very good day for Fleetwood in terms of incomings. Joining at the same time as Jakubiak is Kieran Wallace who has also moved on loan, though he has come from their Sky Bet League One rivals Sheffield United. With both of these deals, Fleetwood will hope to have strengthened their squad enough that they won’t be involved in another battle against relegation.

Jakubiak is highly rated within the Watford youth system and that’s just been shown by the fact he has signed a new four-year deal with the club which will keep him at Vicarage Road until 2020. This is after coming through the club’s academy and making his début for the team back in 2014 when he made an appearance in the 4-1 loss to Huddersfield Town at the end of the 2013/14 season. He has got most of his first team experience on loan deals away from Watford at clubs such as Braintree Town, Oxford Untied and Dagenham and Redbridge. This move will be his fourth loan deal away from Watford.
