Bristol City striker Paul-Arnold Garita has today moved to Plymouth Argyle on a six-month loan – Argyle’s official website has confirmed.
Garita arrived in England in January of this year – joining Lee Johnson’s Bristol City for a fee of £50,000 from French outfit LB Chateauroux.
However, the 21-year-old has only made one appearance for the club since his arrival – that coming in the EFL Cup first round match against Wycombe a few weeks back.
Bristol City manager Lee Johnson hinted at Garita going out on loan in pre-season, indicating that he needed to score goals at a lower Football League level.
The Cameroonian born player becomes Derek Adams’ 15th signing of the summer, the Scotsman has totally revamped his squad of last season – which came agonisingly close to promotion.
Argyle have made a decent start to the new Sky Bet League Two campaign, recovering from early losses to Luton and Carlisle to put a run together consisting of three wins on the bounce – only conceding one goal during this time.
However, a major concern to Argyle fans will be that the strikers aren’t really scoring. The clubs top scorer in all competitions (3 goals) is Latvian anchor Nauris Bulvitis, who occupies a centre back position.
Summer attacking acquisitions David Goodwillie and Jimmy Spencer are both yet to net for the Pilgrims – the Green Army will be hoping that Garita can be Argyle’s striker that can provide the supplement of goals.
Garita could make his Argyle debut as soon as this weekend – when Gary Johnson brings his newly promoted Cheltenham Town side to Home Park.
The 5′ 9″ man obviously possesses potential, and if good man-manager Derek Adams can get the most out of him it could be a beneficial move for all involved.
