Forest forward not set for Burton Albion move

The Nottingham Post reports that Nottingham Forest forward Jamie Ward is unlikely to seal a Deadline Say move to Championship rivals Burton Albion. The 30-year-old Northern Irishman has previously worked with manager Nigel Clough whilst at Derby County, however no such deal is set to be concluded today.

Ward has only managed one league appearance for Forest this season so far under new manager Philippe Montanier. It remains to be seen if Ward will seal a move elsewhere before the transfer window closes, but Burton Albion can at least be crossed off that list it seems.

In addition to one league appearance, the former Sheffield United man has appeared twice in the EFL Cup in victories over Doncaster Rovers and Millwall. He will be hoping to appear against Arsenal in the next round, assuming he remains at the City Ground beyond this evening.

Burton are hoping to sign one more player later today, whilst Forest are looking to further add to their roster after Fawaz Al Hasawi confirmed on Twitter last night that they signed Mustapha Carayol and Nicolao Dimitru permanently from Middlesbrough and on loan from Napoli respectively. It has already been an extremely busy summer for the recruitment department at the City Ground.
