Fleetwood Town loan in Huddersfield Town starlet

Fleetwood Town have signed Kyle Dempsey from Huddersfield Town on a season-long loan as confirmed by the club website.

The 20-year-old midfielder had been a regular for the Terriers when he first signed for them last summer from Carlisle United for £300K but ended up being dropped from the first team in September 2015 and has mostly made substitute appearances since then. With Dempsey not making a first team appearance yet this season, the club were keen to loan him out to make sure he could continue his development and he now has a new home after he moved to Fleetwood for the rest of the season.

The Cod Army are hoping to not get involved in a relegation battle this season though they did have some early season trouble when Steven Pressley resigned as head coach just weeks before it started and was replaced by Uwe Rosler. While most of the deals were done by Pressley, Rosler will be happy to bring in a player that he knows will fit in with his style of play as they aim to go up the Sky Bet League One table.

It’s no surprise that with Fleetwood having two different head coaches during pre-season that they have brought in a lot of new players and Dempsey becomes the 14th signing of the summer. the other players who have been brought in during this transfer window are Alex Cairns, Lewis Neal, Dion Charles, Ashley Eastham, Matt Urwin, Cian Bolger, Michael Duckworth, Ricardo Kip, Martyn Woolford, Aaron Amadi-Holloway, Chris Long, Ashley Nadesan and George Glendon.
