Reading: Royals said close to sensational 95-cap forward capture

According to many sources, including Get West London, Reading appear to be on the brink of capturing the loan signing of Ghanaian superstar Asamoah Gyan from Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG.

According to Sky Sports reports from yesterday, Asamoah Gyan flew into England amid reports that there was interest in him from not only Premier League sides but sides from the Sky Bet Championship, with Reading being one of those clubs said to be in the mix for his signature.

This position was strengthened by the following tweet from Bleacher Reports Dean Jones, who developed the narrative of Gyan being in the country actively seeking a loan move and stating that, indeed, Reading were a team said to be interested in the 95-cap Ghana international.

The notions about him being set for a medical started earlier today when respected Spanish publication Marca put this to be the case on their transfer timeline at 09:33 a.m.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ (quoted in linked Sky Sports article – above), Gyan said:”I have a lot of options. Me and my agent are here to evaluate them and get the work done, and then I can continue doing what I do best, which is scoring goals and playing well.”

The Ghana legend then went on to dismiss ideas that he’s solely focusing on a top-flight return to English football saying: “I heard about Sunderland and Fulham but we will see what happens. There might be surprises. Football is full of them. The people around me are trying to benefit me. It doesn’t matter if it is Championship or Premier league, it’s about being comfortable where I am.”

Should Reading release the expected details of his signature later today, there is little doubt that this is one of, if not the, the most eye-catching and unexpectedly ambitious signings of the 2016 summer transfer window so far.
