Brentford turn attention to Crystal Palace forward

Brentford have turned their attention to Crystal Palace’s Sullay Kaikai after failing to sign other targets according to a report from West London Sport.

The Bees had made a bid for Chesterfield’s Gboly Aribiyi but despite the winger only having one year left on his contract, the Spireites have turned down the offer and are keen to keep him at the Proact Stadium. While Brentford are still hoping that they might be able to lure Aribiyi to Griffin Park, they have now turned their attention to other targets to make sure they get someone in before deadline day.

And the man that is currently on the top of Brentford’s list is Sullay Kaikai. The 21-year-old, who can play on the wing and up front, is a highly rated prospect at Crystal Palace after a very successful loan spell with Shrewsbury Town but is likely to head out on loan again this season. While it wouldn’t be the permanent deal that Brentford would get if they signed Aribiyi, it would still be a very talented player who would add more to a squad that needs more wide players.

Kaikai started his career by coming through the Crystal Palace academy though he has only made two appearances for the Eagles, though he did score in one. He has gained most of his first team experience on loan at teams such as Crawley Town and Cambridge United, though he got plenty of attention for his two spells at Shrewsbury Town. While there he scored 12 goals in 29 appearances.
