Reading sign Liechtenstein international

Reading have signed Sandro Wieser on a free transfer as confirmed by the club website.

The 23-year-old midfielder has played all across Europe but he was released by Swiss side FC Thun in the summer. However after years on the continent, he will now be trying his hand at English football after he signed a three-year contract with the Royals.

Most notably though Wieser is an international for his native Liechtenstein. Despite being one of the minnows of Europe and them usually being drawn as the bottom seed for international qualification, he has been able to help the team get some impressive results against the likes of Estonia and Montenegro. He even scored in their 1-1 draw with Moldova.

Wieser started his career in his native country with FC Vaduz before being signed up by Swiss giants FC Basel. In 2012 he then moved to Germany and signed for Hoffenheim and actually played alongside new team-mate Danny Williams, meaning they should have good chemistry together in midfield. He was then loaned to Austrian team SV Ried and FC Aarau before completing a permanent move back to Switzerland by signing for FC Thun.

Now though he will hope to impress for Jaap Stam in the Sky Bet Championship.
