Crawley Town sign up former Chelsea youngster

Crawley Town have signed Daniel Pappoe on non-contract terms as confirmed by the club website.

The 22-year-old was taken on trial by the Red Devils earlier in the summer and as well as training with the team, he featured in friendlies against Lewes and Aldershot Town. And those performances we obviously good enough for the Crawley coaching staff who have now signed him on non-contract terms.

The move to bring Pappoe was an obvious one as Crawley’s head coach Dermot Drummy knows him well. Drummy knew Pappoe from when they both at the Chelsea academy. However while he was the captain of the youth team, Pappoe was eventually released from the team.

He then moved onto Brighton and Hove Albion and played for their developmental side but failed to break into the first team there too and was eventually released. Most recently he played in the National League South with Hemel Hampstead but can now return to the EFL after signing with Crawley.

There has been a revolution as Pappoe is now their 18th signing of the summer. Other notable moves that Crawley have made this summer are the signings of Jason Banton, Mitchell Beeney, James Collins and Billy Clifford.
