Norwich City outcast linked to Crotone

Norwich City’s Kyle Lafferty has been linked with a move to Crotone according to a report from Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport via Sports Witness.

The Canaries have been looking to ship Lafferty out all summer as he’s unlikely to break into the first team and while some clubs have been interested in him, none have made any offers.

However that could be about to change as Italian side Crotone are looking to make a deal to sign the Northern Irish international. They have just been promoted from Serie B and are looking for extra firepower to stop them returning to second division of Italian football instantly. Lafferty does have experience of Italian football as well after a spell with Palermo, meaning this isn’t a move that’s completely out of nowhere.

However while this may seem like a good deal for both teams, there could be some problems. Crotone don’t have a very big budget, meaning Norwich would not be getting much of a fee for the striker. And because of that small budget, Lafferty would certainly have to take a pay cut if he were to join Crotone, and it’s currently unsure if he would be willing to do that when there’s a year left on his current deal.
