Aston Villa owner lashes out at Ian Holloway’s predictions

Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has lashed out on Twitter at Ian Holloway after he predicted that they would only finish 16th this season.

Holloway, the former Blackpool and Crystal Palace manager but now a Sky Sports pundit, made his prediction for how this season’s Championship will finish. The list is full of controversy, with Holloway believing that Wolves’ takeover won’t have an effect with them set to finish 11th and the David Wagner revolution at Huddersfield Town will end up being relegated.

However the point that has made the most amount of people angry is that Aston Villa will not be challenging for promotion and will instead finish in 16th place. In the piece, Holloway said that Villa are ‘lucky he’s put them so high’.

However while Villa fans certainly reacted angrily to this prediction, it was the club’s owner Tony Xia who reacted angriest of them all. In the tweet, he said that Holloway was a “A failed player, failed manager and now f***ed pundit.” before adding “Don’t bother reading at all!”. The tweet has now been deleted and there has been no response by him or the club as to whether this was a possible hacking attempt,

While many Villa fans are happy that their new owner is showing the same passion they have, some have also criticised him for not showing professionalism when faced with his team receiving criticism.
