Nottingham Forest close to signing Swiss midfielder

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Olympiacos midfielder Pajtim Kasami according to the Nottingham Post.

The Reds manager Philippe Montanier is actively looking to add to his squad before the start of the new Championship season this weekend and it is thought that a deal for Kasami is close with talks believed to be ongoing between the Midlands club and the player.

The 24 year old Swiss midfielder currently plays his football in the Superleague Greece with Olympiacos. Kasami has won both the Superleague Greece and Greek Football Cup during his time in Piraeus with the player making 67 appearances and scoring nine goals for The Red-Whites.

Kasami started his career in his homeland with Bellinzona before moving to Italian club Palermo in June 2010. The midfielder made 20 appearances during his first season at the Stadio Renza Barbera but just 12 months after signing for the club the player moved to England to join Fulham on a four year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The midfielder scored three goals in 55 appearances for The Cottagers over a three year spell before moving to Greece to join Olympiakos in July 2014.

Kasami is a full international with Switzerland and has the potential to become an excellent addition at The City Ground should he sign for Forest.
