Wolves plan raid on Middlesbrough for duo

Wolves are planning to make bids for Middlesbrough’s Adam Forshaw and David Nugent according to a report from HITC Sport.

Both players played a part in Middlesbrough’s promotion last season, though they were definitely on the fringes of the squad. And now that the Boro have been promoted and are signing new players for their return to the Premier League, both players are set to be pushed further away from the first team.

And coming off the back of their takeover from Fosun International, Wolves are set to make bids for them to try and lure them to Molineux. They’ve already signed two Portuguese players in the shape of Helder Costa and Silvio and the ambitious move for Anderson Talisca rumbles on, but the club management acknowledges they’ll need a bit of English grit if they want to get promoted to the Premier League.

And both players could be good fits for Wolves. Forshaw signed in January 2015 from Wigan Athletic in a big £2m move but most of his appearances have come from the bench and could be set for a move away this summer. Nugent had only signed last summer and while he performed well in his 24 starts, he is now further away from the first team picture after the signing of Alvaro Negredo.
