Norwich midfielder signs new two year contract

Alex Tettey has signed a new two year contract with Norwich City as confirmed by the club website.

Since joining from Rennes in 2012, the 30-year-old midfielder has become a fan favourite due to his energetic style and has usually come out of each season with some credit, whether they were getting promoted or relegated. During his four-year spell at the club he has made 113 appearances and scored six goals. And now he will be helping out in another promotion bid after penning a new two-year deal with the club.

During his four years at Norwich, Tettey has seen plenty of highs and lows. Only a year after signing for the Canaries, Norwich were relegated from the Premier League but they made a swift return to the top-tier after beating Middlesbrough in the play offs. Unfortunately their yo-yo status was confirmed when they once again were relegated. Now they are set to face another season in the Championship and will hope that after signing a new contract, Tettey can once again lead them back to the promised land.

With Norwich not being very busy in the transfer market, Tettey’s signing of a new contract will be seen as a big deal. The only players who have been signed by Norwich are Sergi Canos and Michael McGovern.
