Sheffield United: Reject another Championship bid for striker

The BBC reports that Sheffield United have turned down a second bid from Birmingham City for striker Che Adams. It is being reported by the Birmingham Mail that bids of £1.2million and £1.3million have been rejected by the League One club.

Blades boss Chris Wilder ideally would like to keep the player at Bramall Lane, but if they receive a bid of £2million then they would allow him to discuss a move away. Blues manager Gary Rowett is hoping to sign another striker to provide competition for Clayton Donaldson at St Andrews next season.

With a fee seemingly unable to be agreed, perhaps Birmingham and Rowett will focus their attentions elsewhere, much to the delight of all connected with Sheffield United. Sky Sports reports that Huddersfield Town made an unsuccessful bid for the 20-year-old forward earlier this month. Wigan Athletic are also understood to be monitoring the situation very closely as well.

The ex-Ilkeston Town front man has been constantly improving during his time with the EFL club. It was his performances in their Capital One Cup run in 2015, where he scored twice against Tottenham Hotspur, which saw more and more begin to take notice of the young talent. Since joining the club, he has fired in 15 goals for the club after being signed by Nigel Clough, the current Burton Albion manager.
