Newcastle United looking to sign Sheffield United starlet

Newcastle United are hoping to sign Sheffield United’s Che Adams according to a report on Page 63 of The Sun on Sunday.

The 20-year-old forward has interested plenty of clubs this summer, most notably Birmingham City, thanks to his energetic performances at Bramall Lane and now Newcastle are the latest team to join that race. They’ve made no secret of the fact they’ve been looking for a new forward and think Adams could not only be great for this season but has potential to develop into a Premier League standard player.

While Adams potentially leaving Sheffield United would be bad news for the Blades, it would be brilliant for some of their League 1 rivals. This report suggests that if Newcastle could sign up the former Ilkeston man, they would allow their own young star Adam Armstrong to go out on loan. Potentially Sheffield United could sign him on loan to replace Adams though Coventry City would surely lead the race to sign him after he impressed there so much last season.

Newcastle have been very busy in the transfer market so far this season having signed six players this summer. Those players are Dwight Gayle, Matt Ritchie, Grant Hanley, Matz Sels, Isaac Hayden and Jesus Gamez.
