Wigan Athletic have agreed a deal to sign Liverpool’s Adam Bogdan according to a report from The Sun.
The 28-year-old goalkeeper has been a back up to Simon Mignolet ever since he signed for them last summer but has been criticised in the few appearances he has made for them. Like when he was at Bolton Wanderers, he remained prone to making a howler and made one of them in a game against Watford.
This has lead Liverpool to sign a new back up goalkeeper with the Reds completing a £4.8m deal for Lorius Karius from Mainz with Bogdan being placed on the transfer list. And his time at Anfield is soon going to end as reports have suggested that Wigan have agreed a deal to bring him to the Latics.
Wigan went through two goalkeepers last seeing, first having Richard O’Donnell as their number one but he fell down the pecking order and was sold to Bristol City in January. His place in the first team was then taken by veteran Jusi Jaaskelainen who was able to perform well as they got promoted from League 1. However now that he’s aged 41, there are concerns that he is now too old to play on a regular basis.
