Leeds-linked winger rejects move to France in favour of Belgian club

Leeds United target Anthony Limbombe has reportedly rejected a move to French side Toulouse in favour of Belgian outfit Club Brugge, according to the Telegraaf.

The Whites have been linked with the winger since last summer, and reportedly lodged a £1.5 million bid for his services recently.

The NEC Nijmegen winger refused to report for training on Monday morning, in order to aid his efforts to push a move away from his current club.

The Telegraaf reports that Nijmegen and Toulouse agreed a fee for the 22-year-old, but Limbombe refuses to make the move to the French club.

In 32 appearances for Nijmegen in the Dutch Eredivisie, Limbombe scored seven goals and assisted a further seven, form that led to his club placing a €2 million price tag on the player.

The Telegraaf also reports that despite Club Brugge offering a smaller transfer fee than Toulouse, Limbombe would prefer the move back to Belgium, having previous history in the league playing for KRC Genk.

Limbombe is also a Belgian international, making five appearances and scoring one goal for the Belgium under-19s side.

Despite the player reportedly preferring a move to Belgium, Leeds United remain interested in the winger and have a bid on the table for his signature.
