Cardiff City goalkeeper could leave for Premier League club

Cardiff City’s David Marshall could be about to leave the club and join Hull City after they made a £6m bid for him according to a report from The Sun via Wales Online.

Plenty of teams have been interested in the 31-year-old goalkeeper due to the high level of his performances while at Cardiff but they have usually been put off by the fact his contract won’t expire until 2018, meaning the Bluebirds try to charge the highest fee possible for one of their star players.

But the Tigers, still feeling the positivity of their play off final win over Sheffield Wednesday in May, are now looking to lure Marshall away from the Cardiff City Stadium. They are looking for a new goalkeeper as their usual number one Allan McGregor was prone to injuries last season and has been ruled out for six months which meant it was Eldin Jakupovic who ended up being between the sticks for the play off final.

Right now, Hull are hoping that £6m will be enough to sign Marshall but Cardiff will be holding out for more. With two years left on his current deal, the Welsh club are going to be demanding at least £10m for the goalkeeper and are set to reject any offers below that value out of hand.
