QPR midfielder set to leave for Russia

QPR’s Sandro is set to leave the club and join Russian side Rubin Kazan according to a report from West London Sport.

The R’s have been keen to get rid of the 27-year-old midfielder for a while now due to his high wages and he ended last season on loan with Premier League team West Bromwich Albion. It appeared that he was going to move to Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon earlier in the summer but that deal fell through when he failed a medical at the club.

However it now appears that another move is on the cards after Rubin Kazan stated their interest in signing him. Russian clubs are able to spend a lot of money on fees and wages and it could be an ideal place for Sandro to try and get back to playing regular football.

Sandro had been a big signing when he signed for QPR back in 2014 but unfortunately for him and the club, it didn’t transpire as they hoped. A persistent knee injury meant that he could never get regular football and has only made 28 appearances for the West London side in his two years at the club. And with this move to Russia on the cards, he may not make any more.
