Leeds United linked with move talented League One youngster

Leeds United have today been linked with young Rochdale midfielder Callum Camps as the Whites look to add more prospects to their squad in light of the recently-departed Lewis Cook.

Cook left the club a week ago today for a fee of around £6 million and was seen as one of the Whites most promising players.

The money the club received for the deal looks set to be put towards future transfers, with Camps being seen as one of the Dale’s most promising talents.

Although born in England, the midfielder currently plays for the Northern Ireland squad at International level and earned his first cap for the Under 21 set up last year.

Making his senior debut at club level in 2013, Camps has already become a main-stay in the clubs starting eleven and last season saw the youngster make 36 appearances in the league and net five goals.

After signing his first professional contract in April of 2013, Camps had his potential rewarded with a contract extension last year which will keep him at Spotland until 2017 with the club having an option for an extra year.

Gary Monk’s Leeds United have been active in the transfer window this summer and have, in just the last ten days, snapped up four new players.
