In-demand Walsall striker puts in transfer request

Tom Bradshaw has made his intention to leave Walsall clear after he put in a transfer request as confirmed by the club website.

The 23-year-old striker is coming off one of the best seasons in his career after scoring 20 goals in 50 appearances last season, firing the club into the play offs though they would eventually lose to Barnsley in the semi finals. This has led a number of clubs to be interested in the player with both Barnsley and Rotherham United making bids for him.

A deal to sell Bradshaw always looked likely because he only had one year left on his contract and now it has been revealed that while the Saddlers were trying to get him to sign a new contract, Bradshaw has continually turned them down as he wants to move away from the club. The club statement has said that Bradshaw wants to move up to the Championship to enhance his chances at an international career. He had  a good chance of making it into Wales’ Euro 2016 squad until an injury meant he wasn’t able to travel.

Now though he looks set to leave the Bescot Stadium to one of the many interested Championship clubs will now look to take advantage of this transfer request.
