Crystal Palace end Robins’ hopes of unexpected windfall

Last season’s FA Cup Finalists Crystal Palace look to have ended Bristol City’s hopes of a timely windfall after upping the asking price on winger Yannick Bolasie according to the Bristol Post.

The Eagles signed the 27 year old French winger from Bristol City back in August 2012 for an undisclosed fee with Bolasie signing a two year deal at Selhurst Park.

The player has gone from strength to strength in South London becoming one of the stars of the Crystal Palace team and his performances have attracted the attention of a number of clubs with Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and West Ham United all being linked with the winger.

In an attempt to warn off transfer interest from rival Premier League clubs, Palace have slapped a whopping £28 million price tag on the player. The move has dented Bolasie’s former employers Bristol City’s hopes of landing a financial windfall with The Robins entitled to receive a sell on percentage of any transfer fee received by Crystal Palace.

Bolasie joined Bristol City from Plymouth Argyle back in summer 2011 and went on to make 25 appearances for the club scoring once before moving on to Crystal Palace after just over 12 months at Ashton Gate.

Crystal Palace are in no rush to sell the winger with Bolasie contracted to the club until summer 2019 and Bristol City may now have to wait for any financial benefit from The Eagles.
