Wolves favourites to sign former Manchester United man

According to the Daily Mail, Wolverhampton Wanderers are odds on favourites to sign former Manchester United attacker Nick Powell.

Powell was released by Manchester United at the end of last season, after failing to impress during his time at Old Trafford.

He appeared in the senior team just nine times during his four years at the club, scoring one goal, which came on his debut.

Powell made his name at Crewe Alexandra, guiding them to promotion to League One back in 2012, before he was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

There were big hopes for his future, but he spent the majority of the four years out on loan to various clubs.

He’s played for Wigan and Leicester City since, and most recently had a spell at newly promoted Hull City.

Powell has represented England at every youth age group from U16 to U21, but has never been in contention for a call-up to the senior squad.

Thanks to the emergence of youngsters at United such as Marcus Rashford, it was clear that Powell was never going to break into the first team picture.

After being released at the end of last season, he’s attracted interest from Hull City and Bristol City, but Wolves are heavy favourites to land the signature of the attacker.
