Fulham nearing deal for Cardiff City defender

Fulham are closing in on a deal for Cardiff City’s Scott Malone according to a report from Get West London.

The 25-year-old left back, who can also play in midfield, has made over 50 appearances for Cardiff since signing for them in January 2015 but their new manager Paul Trollope is willing to sell him. And this report has suggested that Fulham have already agreed a fee with Cardiff and personal terms with the player and all that the deal is now awaiting Malone to complete and pass a medical for it to be completed.

The Cottagers are looking to completely change their defence after having one of the most leaky back fours in the Championship last season. Fulham conceded a stunning 79 goals last season, the third worst in the league, so despite the best efforts of Moussa Dembele and Ross McCormack up front, they were involved in another battle against relegation. And the signing of Malone could be the perfect man to shore up the left side of their defence.

If Malone is to sign in the coming days he would be the third signing of the summer for Fulham. Already signed up for the cause at Craven Cottage are Floyd Ayite and Sone Aluko.
