Barnsley bid for young Belgian star rejected

According to Eindhoven Dagblad, Championship new boys Barnsley have had a bid of around €600,000 rejected for Jinty Caenepeel of FC Eindhoven.

Rumours of this deal have been few and far between in this country but the Dutch media appear to have broken the story.

Caenepeel would be an exciting signing for Barnsley, a 19 year old Belgian forward with 15 goals in his first year in Holland.

A dimunitive forward with plenty of experience for Belgium’s youth teams, Caenepeel could be a clever pick up for Barnsley.

There is thought to be an offer from FC Ufa of Russia also, whose bid was also rejected, and Eindhoven appear to be holding out for €1,000,000.

Whether Barnsley will up their bid we will wait and see, but this is a player who could be very exciting for fans and for the club alike.

Able to play wide or up front, Caenepeel is known as a fast, tricky player who is a capable goalscorer from wide positions.

With the abundance of talent that Belgian sides have been producing in recent years it is no surprise to see teams looking to find the next young star, and Barnsley are looking to do exactly the same.
