Cooper, Leeds United defender being tracked by Premier League duo

Leeds United defender being tracked by Premier League duo

Leeds United’s Liam Cooper is being tracked by West Bromwich Albion and Burnley according to a report from Talksport.

The 24-year-old defender has only been at Elland Road for two years after completing a £600,000 move from Chesterfield and has played well for the most part though he struggled at times due to some of his defensive partners, he is now being monitored by a couple of Premier League teams over a potential move.

West Brom manager Tony Pulis has always been keen to add more defenders to his squad while Burnley may need a replacement for Michael Keane who has been making noises about moving to Premier League champions Leicester City over the last few days.

They will face a battle to lure Cooper away from Leeds though. While their new head coach Garry Monk has already brought in a new centre back after signing Kyle Bartley from Swansea City on loan, they won’t want to lose any more after Giuseppe Bellusci left on loan to return to his native Italy.

Cooper started his career by coming through the Hull City academy and after a number of loan spells, he moved to Chesterfield in 2013. He impressed in his one year at the club and earned his big move back to Yorkshire to join Leeds in 2014.
