Sheff Utd bid for three, including League One defender

The Sheffield Star understands that Sheffield United have made bids to sign three players. It is understood that one of those is MK Dons centre back Kyle McFadzean.

McFadzean has signalled his intention to leave the Dons this summer by submitting a transfer request. Sheffield United are also expected to let more players leave. Midfielder Dean Hammond was released from his contract last week.

Martyn Woolford is someone who has no future at Bramall Lane under Chris Wilder, talks have taken place between the pair. Unlike with Hammond, the club are hopeful that they can sell the player, rather than have to pay up his current contract.

29-year-old McFadzean was born in Sheffield and has previously been on the books of the League One club. He is said to be very keen on returning. The player has told manager Karl Robinson of his desire to leave. The ex-Crawley man wants to return up north to be closer to his family. He won promotion at MK Dons out of League One two years ago.

Wilder is said to be of the opinion that a deal to bring McFadzean back to the club can be arranged. Robinson is said to be unhappy with such talk. Although Wilder remains confident, they are pursuing other targets in case this deal falls by the wayside.
