Bradford sign influential defender after leaving League One rival

Bradford City have confirmed the signing of central defender Nathaniel Knight-Percival on a two-year contract. He joins on a free transfer after leaving Shrewsbury Town over the summer.

Knight-Percival becomes the second signing of the summer after Nicky Law moved from Rangers earlier in the week. The 29-year-old captained Shrewsbury for a prolonged period of time last season.

In total, he made 41 appearances for Salop last season as they avoided relegation into League Two. Prior to this, he enjoyed healthy periods of time playing for Histon, Peterborough and Wrexham.

He has experience of playing all across the English Football League, and also in non-league as well. He has made over 300 appearances in his career so far and adds big experience to McCall’s Bradford side.

Knight-Percival was a popular player at Shrewsbury and they were disappointed to lose him, especially the fans. He know moves to a club which harbours ambitions of hoping to reach the Championship next season.

He has collected honours over the last few seasons. He won the Football League Trophy with Peterborough in 2014. The following year he achieved promotion out of League Two with Shrewsbury Town, after finishing in second place. The defender will link up with his new teammates immediately and settle into pre-season training.
