Derby County resume interest in West Brom winger

Derby County have once again been linked with a move to West Brom’s Callum McManaman according to a report from the Derby Telegraph.

The Rams had been trying to sign the 25-year-old winger back in January and reports had suggested that alongside Bournemouth, Swansea City and Hull City that they had made a £3m bid. However they were rejected at the time with the Baggies hoping to recoup the £4.75m they paid for him back in January 2015.

However a few months later and with a different manager at the helm, Derby are once again in for McManaman. However it appears that they may end up being stopped for the same reason they couldn’t sign him back at the start of the year, West Brom still want the fee that they paid to Wigan Athletic last year back.

West Brom are still demanding to recoup their losses even though McManaman has not been a successful signing for them. Since joining the club at the start of 2015, he has only made seven starts and hasn’t been the player many West Brom fans wanted when he signed 18 months ago.

During his time with West Brom, McManaman’s reputation has nosedived though he could rebuild it if he helps in Derby’s bid to get promoted to the Premier League.
