Transfer listed MK Dons defender attracts Championship interest

The Daily Mail understands that four Championship clubs are hoping to sign want-away MK Dons centre back Kyle McFadzean. Blackburn Rovers, Birmingham City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Cardiff City are all monitoring the situation.

The 29-year-old was relegated with Karl Robinson’s Dons last season. OneMK understands that the former Crawley Town defender handed in a transfer request earlier this week.

Since signing in June 2014, McFadzean has started 80 league matches for the club. That included promotion out of League One in 2015.

He feels he is good enough to ply his trade at Championship level. So much so, his name has now been circling around various agents on the back of his transfer request.

The ex-Sheffield United youngster has at least four admirers. Owen Coyle, Gary Rowett, Kenny Jackett and Paul Trollope all believe he could do a job for them.

Last season he played 44 matches as MK Dons struggled to survive against relegation. Their demotion was finally confirmed with a couple of matches to spare. In March, he picked up a red card against Brighton & Hove Albion. He was booked a total of 14 times last season aswell. This made him the most booked Championship player last season.

He clearly sees his future away from MK Dons and League One. The question is which Championship club, if any, will make their move this summer.
