Newport County bring former loanee back to the club

Newport County have signed Jazzi Barnum-Bobb from Cardiff City on a free transfer as confirmed by the club website.

The 20-year-old full back became well known to Exiles fans when he made 12 appearances during a loan spell with the club last season and now he will be a permanent fixture of the squad after he signed a one year contract with the club.

He had been seen as a prospect by Cardiff when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in charge of the club and was even able to make his debut for the cup in the Capital One Cup. However since then he has been ignored by the management and was announced to be released when his contract expired this summer.

After signing for Newport, Barnum-Bobb said: “I’m delighted to sign for Newport County AFC,”

“There are a lot of new faces that Warren has brought in over the summer and it is a very exciting time to be joining the Club.”

“There has been a lot of changes here at the Club, but the one thing that has stayed the same is that Warren is here and I’m really looking forward to working with him next season.”

Barnum-Bobb started at the Watford academy but left to join Cardiff City in 2014. He would only make two appearances for the club before leaving at the end of his contract.
