Birmingham striker set for talks with Scottish giants

Birmingham City’s James Vaughan is set for talks about his future with the club according to a report from the Daily Mail.

After his initial loan spell was a success, the 27-year-old striker penned an agreement with the Blues that extended his loan until the end of the season as well as joining the club permanently on a one year deal when his Huddersfield Town contract expired.

However it may be a deal that he and Birmingham regret as since it was agreed Vaughan has dropped out of the Blues first team and has struggled to get back in. Since the start of 2016, he has only made 11 appearances and didn’t score a goal in any of them.

So when pre-season starts for Birmingham next week, it is expected that manager Gary Rowett is set to have talks with Vaughan over his future and it is expected he will be told he can leave the club this summer.

There will be some interested parties should Vaughan leave St Andrews this summer and this includes Rangers. After signing a bucketload of midfielders, their manager mark Warburton is looking to sign a new striker and Vaughan looks to be the perfect man for their squad.
