Leeds United to face a 99-goal hotshot at Fleetwood

Ashley Nadesan was a name floating around with the tag ‘prolific’ attached to him during the last few weeks on the season. 99 goals over two seasons buys that tag. Fleetwood Town took the plunge and signed up the young striker who only failed to notch 100 goals after having goals disallowed in his final game for Horley Town.

Now, as well as gearing up for a preseason that includes a home game against Liverpool and a League One campaign, hotshot Nadesan might also be peering a little further ahead.

In today’s EFL Cup First Round draw, Nadesan’s Fleetwood Town drew Leeds United at home in a draw streamed live on Facebook.

When signing for Fleetwood, youngster Nadesan was understandably ecstatic as evidenced by his words to the club website. Speaking of his signing, Fleetwood’s new capture said at the time: “I’m buzzing to be here especially after all the recent speculation about my future. I’m so happy to be here and can’t wait to get going.”

Fleetwood’s League One campaign will only be a game old when Leeds United travel up to the west coast to take on the Cod Army at their Highbury Stadium ground on Park Avenue.

Leeds United, knocked out on penalties by League One Doncaster at the same stage last year, will be hoping that Nadesan doesn’t give them 99 problems with a goal being one.
