Brentford not expecting winger to return from loan spell

The 25 year old was loaned out to Spanish La Liga club Eibar in January on an 18 month agreement to enable the player to resolve some off field matters in his homeland.

It has been reported that the winger’s personal problems have now been fully resolved however Brentford head coach Dean Smith has warned fans not to expect the Spaniard to return to West London just yet.

Jota started his career as a youngster with Celta Vigo and the player went on to make just five senior appearances for the club. The winger joined fellow Spanish club Eibar on a loan deal during the 2013/2014 season and the player caught the eye of English club Brentford after netting 11 goals in 37 appearances for The Gunners.

In August 2014, The Bees signed Jota for an undisclosed fee. The player soon impressed fans with a number of dazzling displays at Griffin Park as the club made a bright start to life in the Championship. Jota scored 11 goals in 51 appearances for the West London club before leaving on loan in January with immediate problems back home in Spain halting his Brentford career.

Jota is contracted to Brentford until summer 2017 with The Bees having the option to extend his deal by a further year.
