Portsmouth deny they made bid for Plymouth hotshot

Portsmouth have denied that they will be making a move for Plymouth Argyle’s Reuben Reid according to a report from the Plymouth Herald.

The 27-year-old striker has been linked with a move to Pompey for over eighteen months now so it wasn’t much of a surprise to see the rumours come up again now we are in another transfer window. This particular report came from a Twitter user that claimed that he was a sports journalist that worked with several clubs in the South of England and that Reid would sign a two year deal with Portsmouth in the coming days.

However according to this report, these rumours are completely false and Portsmouth have not only not made a bid for Reid but will also not be pursuing any interest in the striker in the near future.

Reid had been seen as one of Plymouth’s best strikers in recent years but has struggled since he suffered a hi-flexor injury at the start of the year. While he was able to return to the first team in March, he was only able to get onto the scoresheet once though even without his goals, Plymouth were able to get to the play off final.
