Russian ultras pose with stolen Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham flags

A picture on the Epworth Bells website shows Russian ultras posing with flags stolen from Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham City fans.

The story of Euro 2016 has unfortunately been a tale of the violence caused by a minority of fans and much of it has been caused by Russia who were handed a fine and suspended disqualification after they attacked England fans inside the Stade Velodrome on Saturday.

And while this picture does not show any violent act, it will be seen as highly disrespectful for this group of Russian fans to take this picture showing them posing with a number of flags they stole which include one from Sheffield Wednesday, Birmingham City and Albania.

In the picture, the flags are also upside down which is seen as a great insult to some countries. These fans seem to support Spartak Moscow as their flag shows they belong to the St Petersburg Aliens, a notorious ultras group.

The violence between England and Russia has continued in Lille this week after 36 people were arrested there for football related crimes. Russia played Slovakia there last night while England and Wales are playing in Lens, only a short distance away with many fans deciding to stay in hotels in Lille.
