Premier League clubs warned off swooping for Wolves star

The Express & Star understands that Wolverhampton Wanderers have issued a ‘hands-off’ warning to Premier League sides wanting to sign Dominic Iorfa. Clubs such as West Ham and Crystal Palace have been linked to the right back.

The England Under-21 international was named the Club Young Player of the Year at Molineux. Strong rumours have linked him with a move to a higher-level, but Kenny Jackett wants him to stay.

Earlier this week, Iorfa’s father, told Yahoo that his son has not lined up a move to West Ham, Crystal Palace or any other club.

It is understood that the player himself is happy at the club and is not actively seeking to leave this summer. His signed a new contract in 2015, which runs until the end of the 2018/19 season.

Although top flight teams have been linked with the player, it is said that no concrete bids were made. Several enquiries were submitted, all of which were rebuffed by Wolves outright. Last season he made 46 appearances in league and cup for the club. The team eventually ended the Championship season in 14th place following a frustrating campaign.

Aged just 20, Iorfa is set for a very bright future in the game and Jackett wants him to continue his progression with the West Midlands club. He has since made over 60 appearances for the club in the last few years.

Wolves are more keen on adding to their squad rather than having players leave. Manchester United striker Ashley Fletcher is seen as a target, whilst Anderlecht forward Idrissa Sylla has been linked too.
