Charlton Athletic: New Striker signing COULD be imminent

It is understood that on Tuesday the 14th, the released forward from Birmingham City – Lee Novak, had a conversation with Charlton Athletic, and COULD be confirmed as heading to the Valley in the next few days, according to recent reports.

At the end of the recent season, Birmingham City released Lee Novak of his services for the Blues, and decided not to renew his contract.

Novak spent the majority of his season at Chesterfield, where he scored 15 goals for the side.

It is understood that the Charlton Athletic manager, Russell Slade, would like to secure the services of Novak for the campaign in League One next season, and can see where he will fit in as well as provide a real impact.

Today Novak was contacted by South London Press and asked for a comment regarding the potential link with Charlton, after the conversation he had with the club.

Novak told the South London Press the following.

“I can’t really say too much to be honest.

“But hopefully in the next day or two it should all be sorted with where I’m going.”

It could very much be possible that Charlton will unveil their first signing of the summer transfer window since appointing Russell Slade, in the next few days.

Despite the fact there is no guarantee that Novak could be coming to the Valley after his conversation with Charlton, you can imagine that Russell Slade’s experience, knowledge and commitment could be enough to persuade the released forward.
