Birmingham chase Wales striker

Birmingham Mail journalist Brian Dick has revealed that Birmingham are interested in signing Tom Bradshaw from Walsall.

Birmingham are not the only club to be linked with the forward, with Barnsley also interested in signing the Welsh international.

With 34 goals in 70 appearances, Bradshaw’s goalscoring exploits have attracted plenty of attention and it looked, early on, as though he may be able to fire the Saddlers to promotion.

However, as Walsall’s season petered out, it seems as though Bradshaw may be on his way out and Birmingham are reportedly ready to swoop.

Birmingham striker Clayton Donaldson has been a very tidy player for them up front for the last two years, but at 32, Gary Rowett is looking for a long-term replacement.

Bradshaw may have been playing in the Euros with Wales, as he was in the provisional squad, but was forced to drop out with injury.

Bradshaw’s explosive spell at Walsall appeared to come out of nowhere, following a much more goal-shy few seasons at Shrewsbury, admittedly at a very young age.

Now 23, and in the form of his life, Bradshaw is looking for a chance at a higher level and it appears that Rowett may see him as a long-term alternative to Donaldson.
