Young goalkeeper unsure about Derby County future

Kelle Roos has said in comments made to South London Today that is unsure about his future at Derby County.

Roos started this season on loan with Rotherham United but after being ousted by Lee Camp for the number one spot, returned to Derby. However his second loan spell of the season with AFC Wimbledon as he quickly became a fan’s favourite after keeping six clean sheets in their last eight games of the season, helping the Dons to clinch a historic promotion to League 1 via the play offs.

Now though Roos has been forced to return to Pride Park after the end of his loan with Wimbledon and has recently remarked about how he has no idea what his future holds. It looks likely he may be leaving the club, either on loan or permanently, due to his wish for first team football and that not being likely because currently Scott Carson and Lee Grant are in front of him in the pecking order at Derby, but he may not even be able to return to Wimbledon like he wants as they will probably be outbidded by other teams.

He said,

“I have absolutely no idea what will happen. Maybe I will be loaned out again.

“Derby have changed managers so maybe they have not decided yet. I will speak to the new manager but up until last week it was hard to know who to talk to. I want to find out as soon as possible.”

“I have spoken to Neal Ardley. The loan worked out well for both of us – I liked it and he liked it. It was good for my career. At the moment, there is nothing on the table. It may be tough to come back again.

“There may be other clubs which want to have a bite. But we both understand that we would like to work together again.

“It is not up to him or me, though. It would be nice if our paths crossed again. We have to be realistic about that now. Money is not what is at issue for me. But it may be for Derby. What happens if there are other clubs who want to pay more for my services?”

“If someone said I could play a whole season in League One in 2016-17, I would take that. But it is not up to me.”
