Fulham release four – young winger biggest name to go

Alexander Kacaniklic tops the list of four players released by Fulham this month.

Jamie O’Hara is the other big name who is set to leave, with Shaun Hutchinson and Dan Burn also leaving the club.

Kacaniklic came through the Liverpool academy, but moved to Fulham as part of the deal to bring Paul Konchesky to Merseyside.

A talented left-winger, Kacaniklic has 19 caps for his country Sweden and at 24, has plenty of time left to discover what made him highly rated as a teenager.

Kacaniklic may return to Scandinavia – he had a spell at Copenhagen in 2014 – but there may also be suitors in the Championship.

Jamie O’Hara has had a mixed career, signing from relegated Blackpool this season to Fulham.

The former Tottenham man made 32 appearances for Fulham but is leaving following the end of his contract.

O’Hara, surprisingly only 29, may yet find another team in the Championship, presuming his wages are reasonable.

Dan Burn had become a regular member of Fulham’s defence, but given how poorly that defence has performed this year, it’s no surprise to see them try and change this up.

Burn spent a year on loan with Birmingham but it is unlikely they will make a move for him at this time.

Hutchinson is the last name on the list, leaving after a two year spell since his signing from Scottish club Motherwell. He has failed to have the desired impact and may move down a league for regular football.
