Stoke City leading race for Aston Villa starlet

Stoke City are leading the race to sign Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish according to a report from The Sun via the Birmingham Mail.

The young attacking midfielder is seen as one of Villa’s brightest talents and has been constantly linked with moves away from the club ever since their relegation from the Premier League.

While the likes of Everton have been interested in signing the England youth international, recent reports have suggested that it is actually Stoke who are the most likely to sign Grealish.

Stoke are hoping to add more young English talent to their squad as shown by their interest in another youth international, Nathan Redmond.

They are also looking for a replacement for Ibrahim Afellay who looks set to be out for a while after picking up a serious injury. And with Grealish being seen as a top talent, Stoke manager Mark Hughes believes he would be the perfect addition to his squad.

But unfortunately for Stoke, Grealish’s stock has only risen in the short time since Aston Villa were relegated.

He travelled with England to play for them in the Toulon Tournament and ended up being one of the star players as he scored two goals as England ended up winning the tournament.
