Derby County keeper prepared for Dons return

Derby County’s young goalkeeper Kelle Roos has admitted that he will be looking for a return to AFC Wimbledon should the club want to send him out on loan once again next season according to Get West London.

The 24 year old Dutchman enjoyed a short spell on loan at Kingsmeadow last season where he made 20 appearances and recorded eight clean sheets including a shut out in The Dons’ 2-0 League 2 Play Off Final victory over Plymouth Argyle at Wembley on Bank Holiday Monday.

Despite spending just under four months at the club, Roos left Kingsmeadow as a fans’ favourite after a string of commanding performances for the club in between the sticks. With the Rijkevoort born stopper unsure of what the future holds at parent club Derby County next season, the player admits that he would love to return to feature for The Dons again if he is found surplus to requirements at The iPro Stadium.

“When I came in, I got up to date (on the club’s history) really quickly and I think the staff and players play a massive part of that. From the first day, they’ve been incredible for me” Roos told Get West London.

“I’ve had a great time” the Dutchman added. “I hope the management is happy with what I’ve brought to the club.”

“I’ve got a two year contract at Derby. If I can do it again and win the League One, I’ll do it. What happens is out of my control.”

Roos joined Derby County from non league club Nuneaton Town in January 2014 for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of £30,000 plus add-ons however the keeper has gone on to make just a handful of first team appearances for The Rams.
