Leeds managers under Cellino – where are they now

Following Gary Monk’s appointment earlier this week, Leeds have now had seven managers since 2014.

Six have gone, and now Gary Monk faces the challenge of impressing Cellino, the man known as “the manager eater”.

But what has happened to the six previous Leeds managers?

Steve Evans: October 2015 – May 2016

Steve Evans was sacked on Tuesday, so obviously he hasn’t found himself a job in the meantime. When he was given the job, Leeds were 18th in the table. He led them to a 13th placed finish in the Championship.

Many Leeds fans have criticized Cellino for the way he acted. He was searching for new managers even when Evans still had the job.

“In the last week or two it became obvious that I wasn’t going to be around. I don’t feel disrespected, I had a good working relationship with Mr Cellino,” Evans told BBC Radio Leeds.

“I certainly felt we had done enough to go forward but you don’t make that decision as a manager.

That lies with the owner and the board. I have to accept it, as much as I am saddened by it.”

Uwe Rosler: May 2015 – October 2015

Uwe Rosler took the Leeds job following management spells at Brentford and Wigan.

He took over at Elland Road in the summer of 2015, but enjured a bad start to the new season.

Despite this, he stated that he felt “relaxed” in Cellino’s company.

This vote of self confidence came after just 11 games, and Rosler lost his job just a week later.

He’s yet to have had a job in professional football since his sacking at Elland Road.
