Former Anderlecht manager joins list of potential Forest managers

Former Anderlecht boss Besnik Hasi is the latest person to be linked with the vacant Nottingham Forest job.

Hasi, a former Albania international, left the Belgian side at the end of March and according to Het Nieuwsblad he has received plenty of offers.

They say those offers include Forest, Legia Warsaw and Galatasaray all interested, although Hasi is reportedly set to join Legia son, according to Polish media.

Hasi’s playing career started in the Balkan states before a move to Belgium in the mid-90s. He established himself at Genk and more recently Anderlecht where he joined the coaching staff after retiring.

During his time with the Belgian side, Hasi won the Belgian league and cup but has not lifted a trophy since 2014.

The former defensive midfielder is the latest to be added onto a long line of managers to find their name linked to the City Ground.

Should Hasi be appointed as Nottingham Forest’s sixth manager in two years, it will be his first time in England in the hot seat of a club.

Former Brighton boss Oscar Garcia is the firm favourite whilst Neil Warnock is close ahead of Steve Evans – who is not seen as a genuine contender.
