Rovers fan creates petition for Owen Coyle to be SACKED

Owen Coyle, the former Burnley and Wigan manager, who was recently appointed to take over the vacant position at Ewood Park has not had a welcoming reception according to recent reports.

A petition has been launched by a Rovers fan, which last checked had reached its first milestone of 200 signatures, and is aiming for 500 signatures, with the current count being at 204.

This follows on from the worldwide social media campaign earlier in the week recognised as #VenkysOut – an article on this campaign can be found here.

The fans behind this campaign described the current situation at Ewood Park as a “disgrace”, something a few other Football League sides may be able to relate to.

A supporter by the name of David Gresty created the petition urging people to support him in his bid to try and remove the newly appointed Owen Coyle from Ewood Park, despite the fact he has only been there a matter of minutes, and has not even managed a game for the Rovers as of yet.

The petition stated that Owen Coyle’s managerial career has been a “disaster”.

And went onto say: “Let us state 100% that Mr Coyle being an ex-Burnley manager has nothing to do with the fans disgust at his appointment.

“We believe his dismal managerial record gives him no right to be considered for the post.

“Especially with other reasonable candidates available. He has sent every club he has touched onto a monumental slippery slope and we don’t want to be next.

“Owen Coyle has done NOTHING to even warrant an interview for the well paid and respected job of Blackburn Rovers manager.

“Please remove him from his position as soon as possible to prevent further damage to this historic club.”
